Load content to the clipboard

I have been looking for a solution to load a block of text to a client's clipboard at the click of a button; basically I needed a way to "copy" text for pasting without having to actually select and copy it.

Most of the solutions that are available are NOT cross browser compatible. I have looked at  different Javascript, jQuery, and Flash based systems, but all of them were older and were lacking cross-browser compatibility.

Two of solutions that didn't work:

• Copy to your clipboard using Javascript (only works in older versions of IE)
• jQuery's .clipboard plugin (Last updated in 2009 which included a flash component. Due to security issues, it doesn't work in all modern browsers or flash players.)

The solution that does work:

• Zeroclipboard, a flash based solution which works across most browsers. The implementation is quick, easy, and elegant.
